Southwire is pleased to introduce industrial.southwire.com. Built by engineers for engineers, this website is filled with beneficial features to increase the ease of getting the information needed to get the job done.
At this time, the website offers the following features:
- Downloadable new cable spec sheets.
- Product data repository covering bend radius, resistance, pull tension, and more.
- Ability to search and build custom product lists.
- New tech blog and application notes.
- Download cable specification data tables as an Excel spreadsheet.
One of the most exciting features is how easy it is to download the exact cable spec sheets you are looking for. By clicking the Products tab, the option to explore further into Industrial Cables, Medium Voltage, Transit Cables, Instrumentation, Industrial Flexible, Mining Cables, and High Temp become available for viewing. By selecting any one of these options, dropdown menus are then selectable to get down the exact specifications that are being sought after.
Another key feature is being able to find a cable through its stock number – a feature requested from the engineering community. With just one-click and couple of keystrokes, you can start by clicking on the search icon on top navigation bar, then enter the stock number and hit enter. If the server finds an exact match, it will show you the cable details right in front of your eyes. This even includes information like standard stock item indicated by a small diamond.
Clint Zhang, the creator of industrial.southwire.com, is proud of the usability and functionality of the website. “Southwire wanted to increase the ease of doing business, and this site helps by providing resources to our Industrial customers via application notes, product data and other assets. It streamlines a lot of content that is essential in the planning of projects.”
Currently, there are over 1700 industrial cables available to view and more are being added every week. Other updates will be rolling out over time to expand features and services.
