Southwire Celebrates Opening of New CSC

Oct 4, 2018

Southwire celebrated the addition of its Retail East Customer Service Center (CSC), located in Villa Rica, Ga., on Thursday, Oct. 4. Nearly 200 community and Southwire leaders gathered for a 2018 update from the company’s President and CEO, Rich Stinson, which concluded with the ceremonial ribbon cutting to mark the official welcome of Southwire’s newest facility – Retail East CSC.

The 412,000-square-foot facility stands adjacent to West Georgia CSC and is an expansion of current distribution center operations. The expansion will add approximately 60 jobs in Villa Rica. With this addition, Southwire will employ approximately 450 people at its four Villa Rica facilities.

“We are committed to this community and we are continuing to invest in the people,” said Stinson. “This facility fits perfectly with our current distribution facilities as well as our future logistic network plans. So, as you can see, we are here to stay, and we are excited to grow.”

Expected to be fully operational by the end of the year, the Retail East CSC will play a vital role in the company’s commitment to its customers and expansion of its product offering.

"We’re very excited about what this newest customer service center means to us,” said Kurt Hennelly, executive vice president of sourcing, distribution and manufacturing strategy. “Its proximity to our existing centers makes it uniquely located and configured to reduce delivery times, improve fill rates, support our strategic growth and reinforce Southwire’s commitment to west Georgia. The Southwire team has done an outstanding job developing this site to complement our existing distribution network."

Preceding the ribbon cutting, Stinson gave an overview of the company’s five-year strategic plan, highlighted 2018 accomplishments and spoke about the company’s current reach in the Villa Rica community.
